Goal Setting

Happy New Year 2015 Glitter amandabrunngraeber.com

Now it is time to establish the goals. The goals for this week, this month, this year, and even for five years.  We (my hubby and I) even recently established five year goals.

Spoiler alert!! Goals can fail.   However, that is a good thing.  When a goal fails, it teaches us something. It teaches us that we needed a better plan. A better how to.

Setting Goals- Make them SMART amandabrunngraeber.com

Thanks to prior life experience, I was taught how to set SMART goals.  Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic and Timely Goals.   What I didn't realize then, was that it could be applied to life.  Life can have goals and they need to be SMART.

So, today I challenge you to reach for the stars, dream big and pick a goal. Make is Specific. Tell yourself exactly what your goal is. Make it measurable. Tell yourself exactly how you plan to measure your goal. Make it actionable. Tell yourself exactly how you will do it. What are the steps you are going to follow. Make it realistic. Give yourself a goal that is slightly unattainable but attainable. (Does that even make sense? I want you to set a goal that is a bit out of the comfort zone.) Make it Timely.  Give yourself a time frame.

Seriously, make 2015 your year too!  Set your goal!  Then write it down and put it somewhere that you will see it every day. Now, make it happen!

This year, my goals are big.  It might not be easy, but it will be worth it!

Cheers to 2015!
